Learn Tarot with Me: An Introduction

Hello Friends,

I know that it’s been a while since I posted on this blog, but things have been hectic with new clients booking readings here on my website and at my Etsy Shop, spirit messages on Instagram and my new YouTube channel full of celebrity and political gossip. So it’s been a busy time for me, but now it’s time for unveil a new project.

Despite the lively schedule, spirit has led me back to blogging, but this time, instead of celebrity predictions, I’ve decided to teach aspiring readers how to read the Tarot!

Previously, I wrote about how I learned to read the Tarot as a high school student. I started with a difficult deck, called The Enchanted Tarot by Amy Zerner and Monte Farber. The reason why I call it difficult is because the artwork was beautiful, but quite busy, therefore not easy to understand.

The guidebook was missing as well and, at that time, internet access was not as equitable, so I was not able to Google (or AltaVista/Ask Jeeves) the meanings of the cards as quickly as we all can today.

The positive thing about learning to read the cards this way is that I had to rely on my intuition and creativity to develop a story-telling style of reading cards. The negative thing is that it took me much longer to be comfortable with my reading style. It was frustrating. To deal with this, I would drop the cards to pick up astrology and numerology out of frustration and then pick them back up in an effort to master them.

So in total, it took nearly 10 years to development a style with personal meanings, another 7 years to practice marrying my style with traditional methods and 2 ongoing years of adding the element of spirit communication with the cards.

I acknowledge all of this to say that learning how to read the Tarot intuitively takes work, work and more work. The card definitions that I will provide will help, but that’s only a small part of the effort. You will have to practice as often as you can to create your own style.

With that being said, welcome to the Tarot School series! Stay tuned for next week’s post where I give tips to follow while learning to read the Tarot.

À bientôt!
